I just learn to work with iChess pro and I really like it.
I like the look and feel in comparison with many other tactics training apps.
According the manual it should be possible to create your own tactics exercises from a pgn file.
I wonder how exactly to do this? How does the pgn has to look like?
Hi Jonathan, its a standard pgn which can be created using any PC software or our AnalyzeThis app.
The PGN should have the FEN tag and also the result for the winning side.
Ex:
[Event "Botvinnik Memorial 2012"]
[Date "2012.08.31"]
[White "Zvjaginsev, V."]
[Black "Predke, A."]
[Result "1-0"]
[ECO "D31"]
[WhiteElo "2671"]
[BlackElo "2483"]
[FEN "8/5pk1/p3pN1p/1p2P1pP/1P1nBP2/P1R5/3r3r/5RK1 w - - 0 38"]
38. Rc8 1-0
Hi Asim,
Thanks for the explanation. Is there some automatic way to create these tactics from a big pgn database? Here is what I want to do. I search for short games: say, 5-30 moves long in Megadatabase 2020, within opening lines I play myself.
Then I want some automatic way to find tactics, and save them to a database so the pgn games look like you describe. Is this possible somehow you think?
